Apex Drift

Paint the blue arcs. Never touch red.

Apex Drift is a one-thumb drift score attack on a glowing ring. Your ship laps the ring on its own: you steer between three lanes and set the pace. Ride inside a blue arc to paint it. Paint it all and it grades PERFECT, and every arc you take without missing one builds your flow multiplier up to x5. Red arcs end the run, but each one blinks its lamp and ticks before it goes live. Every 40 seconds the ring changes colour, the music moves up a key and the red arcs learn something new: they slide toward you, jump lanes, breathe and close two lanes at once. Collect ten charge diamonds for a Super Charge that smashes everything in your path, worth more the higher your flow.

How to play

  1. Your ship laps the ring on its own. Steer left and right to change lane.
  2. Ride inside a blue arc to paint it. Be in its lane before it starts and you paint it edge to edge.
  3. Red arcs end the run. Each one blinks and ticks for a moment before it goes live, so change lane.
  4. Pick up ten charge diamonds for a ten second Super Charge that smashes arcs of both colours.

Scoring

Painting an arc pays by the second while you are inside it, then a bonus for how much of it you painted: OK, GOOD, GREAT or PERFECT. Speed multiplies both, from x0.5 slow to x1.5 flat out, and your flow multiplier climbs from x1.25 to x5 with every arc you take without missing one. Super Charge smashes pay on the flow you bring into it. You pick up tickets on the ring, and every five PERFECTs in a row, every 10,000 points and every new sector pay more.

Tips

  • Get into an arc's lane before it begins. An arc painted edge to edge is always a PERFECT.
  • Hold the throttle through arcs you are sure of. Speed multiplies what they pay.
  • A dashed red outline is a warning, not a wall yet: you have a moment to change lane.
  • Build your flow before the charge meter fills. Super Charge pays more the higher it is.
